0:46.6	Thank you. True Crime Podcast. Earlier this week, I spoke to Clay Shabot, a man who was wrongfully incarcerated for a crime he did not commit.
0:53.4	Thanks to the incredible work of one nonprofit, Clay was finally able to see freedom after 22 years

1:01.3	The Innocence Project was able to file for post-conviction DNA testing that proved Clay's
1:06.4	innocence, as well as catch the real perpetrator of the crime.
1:10.8	The organization gave Clay the proper investigation testimony needed,
1:14.6	giving him a plea deal that secured his release.
1:18.6	Today, the Innocence Project has over 70 independent organizations
1:22.6	that provide support and assistance to people across the globe.
1:26.6	Although the Innocence Project has achieved over 200 victories to date,
1:31.3	that number represents only a small fraction of the people who are seeking help.
1:36.3	The nonprofit has received over 65,000 letters requesting assistance since 1993.
