Thank you. on the Fox True Crime podcast. On July 13th, the nation stood still as news broke of an assassination attempt on former President Trump.

Mere minutes after President Trump took the stage at a rally in Butler, Pennsylvania,

shots were fired from the top of a roof of a nearby building,

striking the former president's right ear, killing a local firefighter, a quarry comparatory,

and injuring two others.

As the realization that there was a gunman among them sank in, the crowd ducked for safety.

The shooter later identified as 20-year-old Thomas Matthew Crooks was killed on the scene

by United States Secret Service counter-snapers.

In the days following this horrific attack, questions have emerged regarding security efforts

to sweep and secure the area before the event.

Joining me today is a man with the utmost expertise in this field and someone who I'm blessed to call a friend.

Jeff James is a retired supervisory special agent with the United States Secret Service

who is part of the presidential detail for four presidents, including President Trump, and currently

serves as the president of capital security consulting and chief of police at Robert Morris University

in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, just one hour from where the rally took place.
