So Mayo when I was in California and all the iPhone 15 stuff was happening

apparently there is this other story brewing the iPhone 12 is like emitting

radiation that's gonna kill us all or the French people were the first people to realize it or what happened there can you

explain it to me like I'm five because I have not been following it very closely but it sounds like it blew up quite a bit.

Yeah, this got way bigger than it probably should have.

Although any time a government agency is accusing, you know, an apple device

of it, in too much radiation radiation there's going to be some

scrutiny on it right so literally the same like the day before the iPhone keynote like the

morning of the iPhone keynote France issued a sales ban on the iPhone 12.

So they basically said that according to their testing, the French regulated found that the

iPhone 12 is exceeding the regulation

limit is allowed in the country. Apple initially responded by disputing the

findings saying that the iPhone 12 has been, you know, certified by many

international bodies, blah blah blah blah blah and they basically win a bit of an

impasse France was saying that you know no more phones could be sold of the

iPhone 12 and devices should be recalled or whatever and it was pretty unclear what

was going to happen next if it was actually a hardware thing.

Of course it's, you know, the iPhone 12 must have been approved by France

originally in 2020 when it came out,

otherwise they wouldn't be able to sell it in the first place.

So there was some confusion about exactly what has happened here.
