Hello and welcome to the Americano podcast, a series of discussions about American politics, power and prejudices.

This year, 2024, is an election year in America, a presidential election year.

And so we will be doing two podcasts a week,

rather than our usual one, because we want to and because we know you can't get enough

Americano in your life. Today we are going to be talking about Elon Musk and Donald Trump.

The two men, the two very rich men, had a discussion last night on X, formerly known as

Twitter, and it was very widely viewed, according to Elon Musk, who may be exaggerating

slightly. It's had over a billion engagements. This is really aimed at open-minded, independent

voters who are trying to make up their mind.

And so you can understand why it is, what does it just like to have a conversation?

Honored to, Donald, great, great to speak.

We had a great conversation yesterday, as you mentioned yesterday, if we could just record that conversation and posted it, it would have been excellent.

I hope we can have something like that today.

I think we will. I'm pretty sure we will. And congratulations, because I see you broke every

record in the book with so many millions of people. And that's an honor. We view that as an honor.

And then you do want silencing of certain voices. Usually those are voices that have something to say

that are constructive, oftentimes constructive. And so we have to consider it and honor.

But congratulations on breaking every record in the book tonight.
