Summary

Well, we predicted it, everyone. Back in July, I described what the Kamala Harris strategy would be. I wrote that they will try to get people excited about Kamala for about 5 min, and when that does work, they will go back to calling Trump a fascist. And guess what? Here we are. Everyone from Kamala Harris to Keith Olbermann to even Larry Sabato at UVA Center for Politics has been comparing Trump to Hitler and calling him a fascist…so we decided to ask a question…when we look at fascism as an ideology, does one candidate align with their actual objectives? So that is what we will do today. We will put away the political rhetoric and actually look at fascist policies straight from the fascists themselves and ask the question…does either candidate for president actually align with “fascist policies?”

0:00.0	Well, I guess we all kind of predicted that the Democratic campaign for presidency was going to go in this direction where eventually everyone and their brother would be calling Trump a fascist.
0:09.9	In fact, I think the way I tweeted it back in July was, let me go ahead and explain what the Democrat strategy would be.
0:16.1	It would be to try to get us all excited about Kamala Harris for about the first five minutes of her campaign.
0:21.6	And when that failed, of course, we would get into the long stream of news articles and
0:26.5	accusations that, oh my gosh, Trump and all of his supporters are fascists and threat to democracy
0:31.3	and literally Hitler. And here we are. That's right. A couple of weeks before actual election
0:36.5	day. Actually, not even a couple weeks now. Not even a couple weeks now.
0:39.5	We are constantly hearing about how Trump is not just a threat to democracy, not how anyone that potentially vote for him is a threat to democracy, but he's actually a fascist.
0:48.7	And we're not just hearing it from people in their, you know, mom's basements, right? It's not just the Keith Obleman types of the world.
0:56.4	We're hearing it directly from Kamala Harris.
0:59.2	We're also hearing it from people like Larry Sabato,
1:03.3	who once upon a time I'm told was a respected political analyst and still works for the UVA Center for Politics.
1:06.9	So we decided to sit back here for a second and say,
1:10.7	okay, it's become pretty common for people on the internet to immediately resort to your Hitler when I disagree with you.
1:19.8	But we wanted to actually take a look at what is fascist policy, right? Not just what gets talked about and kind of the popular political
1:29.6	vernacular. But no, no, no, like, no kidding. From fascists themselves, what did they believe?
1:34.2	What did they want with respect to the economy? What were the things that were a part of their
1:37.7	party platforms? Because we want to do, we want to do a quick analysis of, okay, all these
1:42.8	accusations about Trump and all the supporters
1:44.6	being fascist.
1:45.5	Let's take a look at what fascists actually wanted.
1:47.9	And then let's ask the question, does that bear any resemblance to Trump or his supporters?
