But first, political chess or checkers, were now three days removed from President Trump's inflammatory tweets about the so-called squad.

Four freshman congresswomen of color who he tweeted should go back to the countries where they came from,

even though three of them were born in America. And even though his love it or leave it rhetoric

is incompatible with the basic idea of make America great again, since that slogan implies

America isn't great already, and let alone the many times Trump has called America stupid or

pathetic or its leadership incompetent.

And yes, Trump didn't explicitly mention the color of the Congresswoman's skin, but there is no

fair, contextual reading that doesn't conclude racism. But that's not what we're here to litigate

this morning. Instead, our question is if what Trump is doing is intentional or spontaneous,

chess or checkers. It's pretty

easy to assume the latter, particularly given this all began with tweets, and we all have access

to Twitter and sometimes do things off the cuff. But Axio CEO Jim Vandehy this morning argues

that Trump is engaged in a calculated strategy designed to boost electoral turnout of older
