0:21.7	And I'm Becca Freeman.
0:23.2	And today is our February Book Club episode.
0:26.5	This month has gone by so fast so I cannot believe it is already here.
0:30.1	But we are going to be talking about Isola by Allegra Goodman.
0:34.6	And I know nothing about Becca's thoughts about it, but I have some guesses.
0:39.9	Didn't love it. But you did? I did. Well, let's get into some highs and lows first.
0:46.1	Tell me your high. My high is that I had a very quick whirlwind jam-packed weekend in New Orleans.
0:53.5	I went to visit my brother. My parents were also there,
0:56.2	so it was just a nice little family weekend. Oh, I didn't realize your parents were there, too.
1:00.5	Yeah, yeah, we were all there. So it was really fun. And it's Mardi Gras right now. So it was my first time
1:05.6	being in New Orleans for Mardi Gras. I've actually, I visited New Orleans a few times, but it's always been in August, which is a bold choice, but probably also the cheapest, which is, I'm assuming why I did that. But it was nice for it to be actually cold. And we went to the parades, which was, I had no idea. Like, I had no idea the scale of these things. Have you ever been to one, a Mardi Gras parade?
1:27.6	No.
1:28.8	My assumption was, like, I only knew the flashing for the beads, which I now think is maybe a myth, or at least the ones I went to.
1:38.1	It was a very, like, family-oriented thing, and they don't just throw beads.
1:43.0	They throw, like, light up things, wings,
1:47.3	footballs, cups. They throw all kinds of stuff. And the kids all sit like on the top of
1:54.3	ladders and they have little seats that they like build into the top of the ladders to sit there
1:59.9	and watch. It's really cute.
2:02.0	And so it was just, it was a really nice fun weekend. We ate so much good food, had so many good
2:07.5	drinks. It was just a lot of fun. That's awesome. What's your high? Oh, I have multiple highs.
2:13.6	I feel pretty good on the whole. I had friends visiting this weekend, which was really fun. Two of my best friends from college came from Boston. So we went to a comedy show. We went to a bunch of good dinners. We went shopping one day. So it was very fun. And I also haven't traveled anywhere this year, which is somewhat unlike me. And so it was nice to have a big weekend that I was looking forward to even in my own city. So that was fun. And then I also had a great call with my editor last week. I had gotten notes on the latest round of my draft
