Good morning, Shalom everyone and welcome to the ancient city of Japa.

It's a name that only in English sounds weird.

Japa. In Hebrew, by the way, it's not called Japa, it's called Yafo.

It comes from the Hebrew word beautiful. Yafa is beautiful, Yafe beautiful,

and there's no doubt that the name reflects the nature of this place.

It is definitely beautiful. We're talking about a city located right on the shores of the

Mediterranean, and we're about 30 miles south of Cessaria by the sea along the Mediterranean,

and this is the one of the most ancient harbours at the time of the old, of course,

and the New Testament. When we deal with Cessaria by the sea, we'll talk about it obviously

with New Testament angle. This is no doubt an ancient Old Testament city that

is first mentioned in the writings of Tatmas III, one of the pharaohs that had a conquest

journey all the way here in the land of Israel, 15th century before Christ.

We're talking about more than 3500 years ago that the name of this place is already mentioned

in the ancient Egyptian writings. So the fact that it's mentioned 1500 years before Christ

doesn't mean that it's only 3500 years old. It's much even older than that, but you can see that

it is so important and it is so old that it is already mentioned in the writings of 3500 years ago.
