by the state of Israel to criminalize pro-Palestine activism in the

United States. I myself filed a lawsuit challenging Georgia's anti-BDS laws, which are on the books

now in over 30 states. But that's not the only legal attack route they're taking. There's a whole other

front of trying to criminalize not just pro-Palestine

activism, but pro-Palestine speech itself. This year, there was a truly stunning attempt in California

to do just that, where an Israeli law firm sued a Palestinian-American named Suhair for, get this, this a Facebook post simply contrasting a female

Israeli soldier with slain medic and international hero Rizan al-Nazjar who was the subject of our

documentary Gaza fights for freedom but here's the real kicker this Israeli law firm didn't

try to punish Suhair under California law or even U.S. law, but waged a huge legal campaign to get a judge to punish her under Israeli law, presumably hoping to set a groundbreaking precedent to hold all U.S. citizens under the domination of a fascistic

Israeli legal system for pro-Palestine speech and activism. This legal saga is so bizarre,

and it gives an important window into the behind-the-scenes tactics being wielded to try to silence our

nonviolent movement for justice in violation of our constitutional rights.
