there's nothing out there but river and fields. Going by what the police told me

both driver-side doors were left open.

The truck was left in the on position like as in running

until it ran out of gas.

And then the battery died.

On the evening of November 4th, 2023, 33-year-old

Jared McCullough left his home in Marion, Louisiana.

It's believed that Jared was planning to drive to the Salem, Illinois area to visit his teenage son.

Jared packed up his truck with some supplies and his two beloved dogs.

That trip would have been more than 500 miles, should have taken Jared roughly 8.5 hours.

Along the way, Jared stopped at various gas stations to fill up and grab some food and drinks.

Jared was spotted on camera arriving in the Salem, Illinois area in the early morning hours of

November 5th, where he purchased some gas and an energy drink.

He was later seen again at two different gas stations. But now he seemed to be heading

east toward Indiana, and no one seems to know why, or where he was going. The next morning,

Jared's mother received a phone call from law enforcement in the state of Indiana,

informing her that her son's truck had been found abandoned in a very remote area with some of the doors left open and

Jared's dogs were still sitting inside.
