If you have been a long time listener of the podcast, you have heard me cover the case of Jacob Wetterling.

And I'm not going to dive in too deep with this because it is one of the cases that we've done that I'm,

like that I've covered that I'm most proud of, so I encourage you to like just go check it out.

But a brief synopsis is that on October 22nd, 1989, 11 year old Jacob Wetterling was abducted after biking home from a convenience

store with his younger brother and best friend. A man wearing a ski mask holding a gun ordered the three boys to lie face down in a ditch.

The man ordered Jacob's younger brother to take off running towards the woods and told him

that if he looked back back he would shoot them. The man then looked at

Jacob and Aaron, who was his friend, and told Aaron to get up, gave him the same orders. He looked at their faces first and then essentially picked one

and told Aaron to take off running under the same like premise that he would shoot him if he looked back.

His case went cold and it stayed cold until 2014

when investigators started to piece together

a series of attempted and actual child molestations in the area two years prior to

Jacob's abduction. In October of 2015, Danny Heinrich was named as a person of interest and then after a series of breakthroughs he was ultimately charged and with the murder of Jacob and would ultimately lead Jacob's family and investigators to the location of

Jacob's body on September 1st, 2016.

The period of torture and uncertainty was something that like, you know, you really can't describe.

I hope that people don't have to go through it, but it's something that unless you've lived

that you don't know.
