Summary

Today’s jobs report showed that the U.S. economy added 577,000 jobs in May, which was a very strong number but below what many had been expecting. Dan unpacks the report with Axios business reporters Courtenay Brown and Felix Salmon, who go below the headline numbers and explain what it all means for President Biden’s big spending plans. Plus, we discuss Facebook's decision to ban former President Trump for another two years.

Hi, I'm Dan Pramak, and welcome to Axios Recap, where we dig into one big story.

A government report is shooting down the existence of alien UFOs, and we're focused on the new

The U.S. Labor Department this morning reported that the economy added 559,000 jobs last

0:26.4

month and that the unemployment rate fell from 6.1% to 5.8%.

1:17.1

the headline number and also understand what it means for President Biden's big spending plans.

1:22.0

For that, we'll be joined in 15 seconds by Axios business reporters Courtney Brown and Felix Salmon.

But first, this.

We're joined now by Axios business reporters Felix Salmon and Courtney Brown. Courtney, you get
