Hello and welcome to another episode of the JRE Review. It's 4th of July, so happy 4th

of July, everybody. I know I'm English, so coming from me doesn't mean as much, and maybe

I shouldn't be saying it, but I've lived in the US a long time, I'm a citizen, I love

this holiday, I'm going to a barbecue shortly, and you know, the English can stay the fuck

out of America, except me, of course, because I'm alright. Today's episode is Joey Diaz

episode, episode 1319. Joey Diaz, of course, one of Joe's best friends, a big opener for

Joe, has been for many years, and according to Joe, it's quite frankly the funniest comedian

who ever lived, and I have to agree. Anytime I've seen that guy, he has a special energy,

he's absolutely brilliant, and he brings it on this podcast, so let's check it out.

Joey's pretty mad at the beginning of this conversation with Joe, what Diaz is because

of remakes of all movies. He jumps in and gets pretty frustrated with some certain remakes

of certain old movies and how they shouldn't be remade. He does talk about the Blues Brothers

and how amazing that is, that movie is really great, and it does hold up. It's so theatrical

and hilarious. I mean, it basically is a musical in a sense, but it's not a musical in the

traditional sense. It's got some brilliant scenes in it, some classic singer, songwriter,

musician, comedians. It really has it all, and it's such a fantastic movie. It's so funny.

John Belushi and Dan Acroid, I mean, legends of SNL, really, and just put it all together

in that one. If you haven't seen that one for a long time, you got to check it out.

They really nailed that movie, and I love that Joey has such passion about these classics.

Joey always has such an unforgiving passion, too. When he's like, this is how it is, this

is how I see it, that's how it's got to be. He's so unapologetic with it, but he's still

always willing to listen and get quiet when he doesn't know something, but loves to get
