My friend Noel is someone who has served God literally all over the world.

She and her husband have served in churches, been missionaries to Ireland, and now they live in the States in New Jersey, and serve Jesus in a very unique and important way. They are literally pastoring their community. I say unique because I think

sometimes this is a very forgotten way to serve the kingdom of God. I mean, that sounds crazy because pastoring a community,

should that be unique? Not necessarily, but I think we forget about it. I asked Noel

exactly what they do every week, and she sent me a list, and here is what was on the list.

Bagels in Church on Sunday, weekly Bible study, Tuesday night summer barbecues, showing up to

neighborhood initiatives, cheering for neighborhood kids, caring for immediate neighbor needs,

joining community recreation and not being a jerk. She's funny. Not being a weirdo.

There you go. That's where the bagels and not being a weirdo come in. Now, you're probably

laughing like I did at not being a jerk and not being a weirdo. But honestly, those things could

preach entire messages, right? We all know how many

believers have had kids on a wreck team in a neighborhood, whatever, on the swim team in the

neighborhood. And in that space, they have absolutely been the worst parents on the sidelines.

And in that way, they have given the worst testimony
