0:00.0	Hi, friend, summer is special on the Jesus Over Everything show, and I am especially excited about this summer, where I am highlighting some of my favorite conversations that you may or may not have heard.

0:21.5	So first, I would say you cannot lecture your way to leverage behavioral change.
0:27.0	And you cannot argue your way into a right relationship.
0:30.8	So if you find your two main modes of communication arguing and lecturing, it's not working.
0:36.8	Saying it louder, saying it more frequently is not going to
0:40.7	help. And when you let them fail, when those natural consequences happen, so many times,
0:47.6	that's all the discipline that they need. That's all that they need to learn from that.
0:51.8	We don't need to pile shame on top of it. Because guilt is good.
0:56.1	If they feel guilty about something, that's a signal to our bodies to change our behavior.
1:01.0	But shame tells us that who we are is wrong.
1:08.0	Well, I'm incredibly excited to have on a new friend.
1:11.2	Let's just go ahead and reveal that our daughters are roommates at Baylor University,
1:18.0	which makes this a whole new level of awesome for an interview for me.
1:23.1	I think you may be the first guest who I've hosted your daughter in my home and fed dinner to.
1:28.8	Okay. I will wear that badge of honor proudly. I mean, it is so amazing and so sweet to see
1:34.8	their friendship. And when she came home and told me, Mom, you're never going to guess who I'm
1:40.2	rooming with. It was just, it was such a great divine appointment. I have loved every second of it.
1:45.8	Oh, it's so fun. I just love Shelby so much. The sweet friendship with Shea. They are really,
1:53.7	not only close, but they are, they're really compatible. I remember Shea telling me that there
1:59.6	was a particular friend of hers that she'd met her freshman year that she felt this real kinship to because they both had similar tendencies in sort of their way of doing things.
2:13.0	Maybe they're both kind of a type A personality or kind of together.
