Joe Trippy is a legend when it comes to political campaigns.

He's worked on the presidential and statewide campaigns of Ted Kennedy,

Walter Mondale, Gary Hart, Jerry Brown, John Edwards,

and he was also the campaign manager for Howard Dean.

Not to age Joe, but he's been strategizing about how to win in politics since 1979.

Joe is probably most famous for the Dean campaign where back in 2004 he used new online

technologies to organize what became known as the largest grassroots movement in presidential

politics at the time. I asked Joe to come on the

show today to tell us what the hell is actually going on in Washington DC these days.

Is it as chaotic there as it seems out here in the real world.

Are Trump's bizarre tweets and continual attacks

part of a larger, more thought-out political strategy

or just an angry guy with a Twitter account

who so happens to be president?

But more importantly, given that Joe has such

unique knowledge of presidential campaigns, I wanted to know as I'm sure you do what's

going to happen to the Democrats and the Republicans in both the 2018 and

2020 election, who for, is going to be the
