I'm Anna Eliopoulos with your Fox True Crime Minute. Amid renewed interest into the cold case,

John Ramsey, the father of Jean-Beney

Ramsey, says he believes police have not taken a suspect in a similar crime in the area seriously.

In 1997, a year after his daughter was strangled and bludged into death in their Boulder, Colorado

home, an unknown suspect broke into a girl's home just two miles from the Ramsey's and attacked her in her bedroom.

That victim's mother managed to confront the attacker who fled.

Ramsey tells Fox News Digital that girl attended the same dance studio as Jean Bonnet.

And despite the similarities he noticed, cops didn't take him seriously.

The police chief at that time said, well, it's not the same

because the little girl in the second incident wasn't murdered.

It's like, that's absurd.

Boulder Police previously said there was no connection between the two incidents.
