The song was composed by television broadcaster and musician John Tesh.

He was the co-host of Entertainment Tonight at the time as well.

And while this song,

hyped up fans watching basketball, the game itself was exploding in popularity at this time.

Michael Jordan led the Chicago Bulls to three consecutive championships in the early 90s.

The younger generation may not care. It does sound a little dated, though.
