Hello everyone, I'm Jinx Monsoon and welcome to Hi Jinx, a podcast where I, an internationally tolerated

drag superstar, get to interview compelling and fascinating people about how they became who they are

and why they do what they do. Today, I'm going to start the episode a little differently.

As you all know, if you've been listening for a while now, I have just made my Broadway debut in

the long running Chicago, the musical. I'm playing Mama Morton. It has been a dream come true

and the experience has kind of blown my mind because you wait for something for so long or you

you kind of build up anticipation for something for so long and you convince yourself what it's

going to feel like and what it's going to be like and then you get there and it's so much simpler

but also so much more than you could have ever imagined. Let me tell you what this experience has

been like. Opening night, I was a bundle of nerves but we had just the most amazing generous

audience and the show was on fire that evening. Now, if you are familiar with theater,

you may have heard of the term the second night curse or the sophomore slump or the curse of the

second night, lots of people call it, lots of different things. The idea essentially is nothing

can compare to the energy and love and excitement of opening night. So no matter how good the show is

second night, there's just no way it can live up to opening night and you feel like maybe it's
