So in the early 1800s, a young man in New York reported receiving divine revelations

that directed him to translate a new book of scripture.

Joseph Smith soon gained a reputation as a seer

and as the founding prophet of the Mormon religion. Today, his revelations and prophecies

influence the faith lives of millions of people. So whatever it is, they're concerning his role as a

prophet. And that's what we'll be talking about on this episode of Jimmy Aiken's Mysterious World.

So Jimmy, this is the first star of this is a patrons episode, correct?

Right. Yeah. Excellent. So you can thank our patrons for this discussion. Jimmy, to start off,

you and I are both Catholic. So does that does that mean we think that God only gives revelations

to Catholics? No, God can work with people no matter who they are. We've already devoted to show

it was episode number 44 to a non-Catholic named John Hendrix, the Tennessee prophet, who was

Protestant. And in that episode, I concluded he may well have received a divine revelation.

So as we pointed out then, God does sometimes give revelations to people who aren't Catholics,

either at the time, like St. Paul or Constantine the Great, or to people who are ever Catholic,
