When Julie was finally able to leave her marriage with her abusive husband, she thought

Eric would be her protector.

But before long, he became abusive and controlling and began taking Julie on trips over the

weekends to sex trafficker to other men.

During the week, she would volunteer

to her kid's school and go grocery shopping. Eventually, Barry, Eric's employer, helps Julie

escape and supports her throughout her journey to recovery. Julie bravely shares her story in the

hopes that other trafficking victims see that there's hope on the other side of their

Going back to kind of this transition from the ending of your marriage with Richard.

And you mentioned that was the last time you ever saw him outside of a courtroom.

What was kind of that experience like of navigating the next little while through kind of those legal proceedings?

Really scary.

I mean, I had never, before I stepped foot in the police station to report him with the domestic violence, I'd never been in a police station before.

Like that was, I wouldn't say I was scared of police officers, but I had, you know, a lot of respect for them.

And I typically thought of people engaging with them who were doing something bad.

So it was really new territory for me.

I was really nervous about it.

And I got thrown into it really fast.

Like they threw me in the deep end right away.
