Fraud and security might just be two of the things that weigh heaviest on every company’s shoulders. It is a day and time where hackers and fraudsters are around every corner, doing push-ups in the parking lot, waiting to strike.
Keeping up with the changing methods fraudsters use is a certain challenge for businesses. To combat this problem, fraud and risk management innovator, Simility, has created a platform that takes fraud prevention to a whole new level. Theirsolution uses a multi-layered approach to fraud detection.
Without giving away the secret sauce, in this interview we take a look at how Simility’s software analyzes transactional data to detect fraudulent transactions. Additionally, we explore the use of behavioral and transaction-based fraud-prevention technology and how it determines if certain behaviors are following duplicitous patterns.

0:40.0	Yes, so tell me about the Simel. You worked with fraud prevention, but fraud where and how, and give me a little bit of background.
0:47.0	Sure. So yeah, my background has been in the fraud space for over 13, 14 years now, got introduced in the
0:56.2	financial crime space with the likes of online poker, you know, solving the transaction fraud, money laundering, overall gaming fraud.
1:05.5	That was kind of my introduction in the space.
1:07.8	But essentially, you know, building stack, engineering stack products that can help catch many of these anomalies
1:15.0	and challenging data problems in this space.
1:19.0	And after that, I spend a lot of time at Google
1:22.0	for about seven plus years or so.
1:25.0	Again, solving some of the interesting problems in fraud, anomaly detection,
1:31.0	specific in the space in ads, in commerce, in consumer products.
