So I'm sure those of us, those who are watching

would be interested to learn a little bit more about your

background and so that can frame the discussion for us.

Absolutely so I began in engineering actually my degrees are in chemical and biomedical

engineering and in graduate school I did some work with a technique called

magnetic cell sorting. What this means is that we can tag little nanoparticle magnets, very, very tiny

magnets on cells and separate the cells based on the proteins that they express.

And what we've learned over the years

is that stem cells express different proteins

than other kinds of cells in your body.

And so that began my career in the field of stem cells. I then worked for several different

companies, one which was a startup in Maryland focusing on using stem cells from
