The restaurant business is still a tough nut to crack.

We've discussed the rigors of keeping the doors open several times this year on good food.

And then there is just this simple act of making and serving food,

which is why those in the kitchen get into hospitality in the first

place. Today we're focusing just on that, the food. LA Times restaurant critic Bill Addison

was past the baton of the 101 best restaurant's list that was started by Jonathan Gold, and this

year Bill was joined by his colleague, Jen Harris.

Both of them traversed the city to give their readers an exhaustive inventory of where to

eat in the great grid of Los Angeles and beyond.
