While the division-leading Arizona Cardinals are enjoying their bye week, the pressure is on the 49ers to keep pace in the NFC West.

The 49ers have not lost to the Seattle Seahawks in five games in which Brock Purdy has been the starting quarterback,

and they certainly cannot afford a loss on Sunday at Levi Stadium.

On the injury report, Kevin Givens will not play due to his groin injury.

That's kept him out now for three games.

Charverius Ward still hasn't returned from his personal leave of absence, so he won't be available to play on Sunday.

And then Mitch Wischnowski, the punter, is probably heading to injured reserve.

That's what Kyle Shanahan said on Friday.

So Wichnowski, with a back issue that has plagued him since the preseason, now it appears they're going to shut him down for at least four games.

And so that means Pat O'Donnell, the veteran punter punted for quite a few years with the Chicago Bears.

Now he's going to be with the 49ers and he'll have an opportunity to probably get a lot of action, a nine-year veteran in the league.

So he will be in uniform for the 49ers against the Seahawks on Sunday.
