As you can hopefully hear, we're not recording this in our normal studio, but given we wanted

to discuss the health of the pub industry, decide the best thing to do is actually come down

to a pub to a record this week's show and

not just so I can have a pint at work and charge it to expenses. So here we are in The

Feathers in Westminster, just down the road from Parliament. And I've wanted to do an episode on

this for a while now, but I was kind of spurred into it this week by the kind of recent and

unrelenting really bad news, you know, whether it's brewery shutting down, pubs closing, music venues,

not able to keep going.

And Kate, your body represents hundreds of companies to operate around about 100,000 venues, I think it is.

Just give us a sense of what it's like out there at the moment in the industry and why things are so

bad at the moment, really.

Yeah, so we represent the breadth of hospitality.

So we do everything from a single site, independent pub, coffee shop, bar, restaurant, right

the way through to the national chains.

And we also cover hotels and fine dining.

So we've got that breadth of understanding and experience.
