Tonight's episode, Mormon tithing lawsuit dismissed. And once again, we are talking

specifically about the James Huntsman lawsuit being dismissed by the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals.

What I want to do tonight is go into that opinion, use my legal experience. I've read a lot of

opinions, hundreds of opinions of courts in my career as an attorney.

And let's take a little bit of time and look at this opinion that was issued recently.

Now, here is the first page of the opinion.

You can see it's titled James Huntsman against the corporation of the president of the Church

of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

It was filed, or in other words, this opinion was issued and made official and part of the record

on January 31st, 2025. A little bit about the background on this case. What happened is that

James Huntsman filed a lawsuit against the LDS Church.

He filed it in district court in California.

District court means it's part of the federal court system.

So he is actually making a federal case out of this.

Yes, he filed it in federal court alleging violation of California law relating to fraud.
