Sum 41. Over two decades, Sum 41 has sold over 15 million records. Earned Grammy nominations

won numerous awards, including a Juneau four4 group of the year. And you might know

their music, Fat-Lift, In Too Deep, Still Waiting, the awesome music that they have, and they

really captured a zeitgeist. Derek and his band have defined punk rock for a generation,

selling out arenas across the world. Beyond the stage, Derek's journey has been

marked by psychological and emotional battles that include both addiction and the road to recovery,

chronicled in his book, Walking Disaster, My Life Through Heaven and Hell. So with that,

let's jump right into this incredible conversation with a legend,

Derek, I am really excited to have this conversation with you. I grew up counterculture,

off access, really appreciating what you stand for and how you lived your life

in so many ways is like i mean the title of your book is awesome it really speaks to it you've really

gone for it in life yeah i think so and that's the part that i hold, like in the highest regard, is really going for it.

So first, before we jump into it, thank you for coming in. And I just want to start like, how are you doing?

I'm doing great. Yeah. You know, we're on a final tour on our final album with Sun 41, and it's just been going great.

This year has been the best year of Sumb 41's career.

We've had more success with the new record at radio than we've ever had.

The tours are bigger, or the shows are bigger, and I mean, just everything's been great.
