It was springtime long ago.

Little streams swelled and danced, and all the forest was glad.

An Oneida boy came running through the wood.

He too was glad, for the world was full of new life.

As he came down the path, he saw something hanging from a branch. The tree was but a few steps from the

trail, so he stopped to see the new flower that the spring had brought. He found this not to be a blossom,

but instead it was a tiny baby cradle. The boy picked the cradle from the branch. It was so much

smaller than any he had ever seen. It fit into the palm of his hand.

As he looked closer, he saw that there was a tiny child in the little cradle.

The wee baby laughed.

Hello, small baby.
