Someone compared me hosting by myself when you're not here to the way that Garth sounded in Wayne's world

when Wayne wasn't around.

I think I did a good job but I also am aware that at some level that is a completely fair shot and assessment.

I was not here last weekend. I'm going to tell you why.

And in fact, this podcast will be dedicated to it.

Just about two weeks ago, my father died.

He died at home. He was with my mom, my brother, my sister, and I, and also his best friend, his best friend was there.

And I would like to spend some time telling you about my dad. Is that all right, Roth?

Yeah, I mean, I know a little bit. The listeners probably have also gathered a little bit,

but I think I think this is a nice way to pay tribute and also it happens to be

that he was a pretty interesting guy who lived a fascinating life.

Well that's the thing I'm gonna leave out the boring shit and I'll give you a funny story up top so that you don't feel like this

is gonna be like a dirge and that like I'm gonna I'm just surrounded by nothing but

lit candles and stuff like that like well I will make sure that I tell you I'm gonna start from the beginning but

before I do I'll tell you a quick story about when he and my mom came down and

to visit this was before we got sick.

This is like 10 years ago, whatever.

And he and I, my dad and I, we have to get in the car

and we have to go do an errand we have to get beer

or we have to pick up food for dinner.
