immediate name recognition but my goodness me what a story Liam Thomas welcome thank you you are

the author of the buyer which helpfully has the subtitle, The Making and Breaking of an Undercover

Detective. So we know why you're here. We know what the story will involve. Usually on full

disclosure, with very famous people, we sort of finish at the point where they become public

figures. So it ends up being an interview all about childhood. And then with people who are here because

what they've done is so extraordinary, it's usually the other way around. We gloss over the

childhood and move directly towards the subject matter of the story. But with you, you're in a

category of your own, really, because, well, not least because you say very early in the book that

undercover detectives are recruited in childhood

I think so yeah what do you mean by that I think it was just um you are shaped obviously as we all are

by incidents in in childhood and sitting down to write the book,

I came to realize that so much of what happened in my own childhood

was sort of contributed to who I ultimately became

in terms of becoming an undercover detective, I think.
