Summary

Episode 6 Liberty German and Abigail Williams

In February, 2017 two teenage girls vanished in the small town of Delphi Indiana while walking in an isolated and secluded area. The next day, the bodies of those girls Liberty German, and Abigail Williams were discovered by a search party. The teenagers had been murdered, and the discovery sparked a massive campaign on news and social media across the country to identify a suspect. Despite having a photo, and audio of the suspect, he has not been identified. Liberty’s grandparents Becky and Mike Patty are interviewed for this episode and they discuss their struggle in the aftermath of the murders, and try to set the record straight about rumors and misconceptions in the case.

0:31.0	On Monday, February 13, 2017, at just around 1.30 PM, 14-year-old Liberty
0:36.8	German and 13-year-old Abigail Williams were dropped off near these trails by
0:40.6	Liberty's older sister. The two teenage friends plan to spend some time
0:44.1	together hiking trails. Libby and Abbey as they were known to their families and friends
0:48.6	planned on taking advantage of accredited school snow day, a day that students are given off in the event that there were snow days accounted for that didn't wind up being used.
0:57.0	Shortly after 3 p.m.
0:59.0	Libby's father Derek made his way to the area to pick the pair up,
1:02.0	but the girls never showed, and
1:05.1	they didn't respond to phone calls or texts.
1:07.8	When the two didn't show up, their families organized a search fearing that the girls were
1:11.7	hurt or lost, but as darkness fell in the woods,
1:15.4	they still hadn't been located, and the families called police to officially report them
1:19.7	missing.
1:20.7	A large search party was created to search the historic trail area where the girls had been walking,
1:25.0	but the search had to be suspended due to darkness, and it resumed the next morning.
