Isaiah chapter 6, verse 8.

And I heard the voice of the Lord saying,

Whom shall I send and who will go for us?

Then I said, here I am, send me.

This is one of the most well-known verses in the book of Isaiah. One of the most

well-known scenes in all the Bible as Isaiah comes face to face with God and all of his glory,

all these angels singing, holy, holy, holy is the Lord of of hosts and he's immediately convicted of his sin he knows he's

a sinner in the middle of a sinful people and he deserves to be cast out of God's presence

and God in his mercy through an angel flying over to him touches

his lips with a coal taken from the altar and says your guilt is taken away and your sin atone for.

It's the greatest news in the world and just so happens that this is Easter Sunday and we're celebrating

the greatest news in the world that sin and death have been defeated by Jesus and atonement

is possible to be at one be made right with God as possible to be reconciled to God redeemed by God as possible

for anyone who trusts in Jesus. Romans 10, 9, if you confess with your mouth, Jesus is Lord,

believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead. You will be saved. That's what this

whole scene in Isaiah chapter 6 is pointing to and it all leads to verse 8.

When God then says, whom shall I send? Who will go for us? Who will take my word to my people and

take my word to all the peoples, to all the nations? And Isaiah immediately says, here I am.

Exclamation point, send me. Because when you see who God is and you

experience his grace and his mercy and his love, his forgiveness, reconciliation with him,

atonement from him, he takes your guilt away, then there's only one response at that point. God
