Over the past decade, the world has been changing exponentially when it comes to technology.

And one very subtle change has been the emergence of earbuds and headphones.

I prefer earbugs more because it's more handy.

I can put it in my pocket.

Once dismissed as a relic of the 80s when the Sony Walkman was all the rage, people in just about every city in the world have started wearing them.

I can never go out of my house without my phone.

I can forget my card and not come back, but without the phones I go back and can't live without it.

How and why did this happen what are people listening to and is it a good thing or are there serious consequences from pumping our ears with music and speech 24-7 it was my friend who

said something one time that i was like oh oh yeah, weird that we wear headphones.

Then I started thinking about it, but before that, like, no, I didn't care.

I was just enjoying my time with my headphones on, really.

Hi, I'm Per Sain, an electronics engineer from Malma in Sweden and co-founder of a company called Earin.

In 2013, me and my colleagues had a dream that started with an unlikely inspiration, a movie called Definitely Maybe with Ryan Reynolds.

The film which came out in 2008 had featured wireless earbuds.

At the time, the technology for something like that didn't exist, but the idea stuck.

And so, my colleagues and I started exploring the possibilities.

We were a tiny team, just three of us, two electronics engineers and one mechanics engineer.

We worked with a chips set from CSR, so a British company known for advanced Bluetooth audio technology.

And we figured out how to shrink it into tiny earbuds.
