Wildfires have been sweeping through California's Los Angeles County.

Since last week, fires have burned more than 60 square miles of land in L.A., putting almost 200,000 people under evacuation orders.

The fires have burned over 1,000 structures and threatened over 60,000.

More than 400,000 homes and businesses lost power, and many had their electricity shut off to prevent the systems from igniting. The fires have been so big and spread so rapidly because

of weather conditions. The area has seen dangerously little rain this year, so the dry land has been quick

to catch fire, and high winds have been quick to spread it.

Of the multiple fires, the Palisades fire was the largest and has become the most destructive

in L.A. history.

At one point, burning through the equivalent of five football fields per minute.
