Sara Drate majors in physical education at Texas Southmost College in Brownsville, Texas.

It's a two-year college and Sada's a model student. She's got a job working in the

physical education or PE department to earn some extra money.

She helps out with some of the PE classes.

Part of her job is checking out video materials from the college's media services department.

instructors show videos in class like first aid or childbirth videos.

It's the late 1980s so she physically has to go check out the materials.

And the guy usually working the checkout desk,

He has a work study job.

You know, one of those positions

that many colleges provide for low-income students to have an on-campus job to make some extra cash.

We used to handle the audio visual department.

We used to handle the films, audio cassettes, BHS tapes.
