Hey all, Joe here and you're listening to committed.

I've been making episodes of this show with my producer Ramsey for more than eight years now,

and we've recorded thousands of hours of interviews with

couples. Each and every one of these episodes has stuck with me. I think about

them all the time. I bring them up to my husband all the time, I quote

our interview subjects, and I hear so often from all of you about your favorite couples.

So today we're trying something a little different, a little bit new. This is the first of one of our best-up committed episodes.

We're going to be compiling different shows on uncertain themes in the hopes of both inspiring you and perhaps starting a conversation.

Now one of the things that's amazed me about the couples on this show is the ability for love and

commitment to withstand some of the worst tragedies that you could ever, ever

imagine and it's these episodes that have personally given me hope.

In some really dark times, I return to them again and again. So today we have three clips from three different couples who've just

really been through it and I know that their stories are going to inspire you.

Now this first clip is actually from our very, very first episode of Committed, so it sounds different. And this was actually the first

podcast I ever made. And just listening to my voice and my interview, it's a little

cringe for me, but the subjects Jessica and Patrick are so incredible.

I've stayed in touch with them on social media.

Jessica has since written a children's book called Jessica and Rescue, which is one of my son's all-time

favorite books. This is an incredible episode. I think about it at least once a week.
