Summary

iOS 17.2 beta release candidate is here with a few surprise changes in store, while Apple formally retires the iTunes TV Shows and Movies apps in tvOS. An impressive new app called Beeper brings iMessage to Android in the right way. There’s also talk of an Apple-Paramount streaming bundle, and the M3 MacBook Air might be released sooner than we thought. Benjamin and Chance discuss it all.

So we got an email from Morris last week which I thought I just mentioned quickly because he said that he loves the show and he mentioned on the Apple watch that he just updated to the new Watch OS, i.e. You know the watch OS 10, the big major update, and he was so confused at the

0:16.3

state of the weather app and I was, he was like, or you can't see the upcoming days anymore,

0:22.1

you know, it's not really showing me information it

0:24.0

seems like a massive step downwards what do you think and I replied back being like I

0:27.5

don't really understand what you're saying because you just like scroll

0:29.6

through the pages and it has the same information yeah the layout is different and I think you know some of

0:34.4

it's better some it's worse to get the nice animated backgrounds but almost all of the same

0:37.5

daters in fact you get more data than before it's just presented slightly differently

0:40.6

but he replied with a screenshot and apparently there's this bug that he was seeing and some other people are seeing

0:46.0

where the weather app doesn't have any pages so like you know like on

0:49.8

what's US apps where in the like next to the crown it has the little dots which show you that you can page

0:55.2

through things where in the screenshot there's no dots and you can't scroll so he

0:59.4

literally only gets the top screen of the weather app which is basically just like

1:02.4

the current weather and

1:03.6

now other information so if that's your if that's your experience with the

1:06.8

Watchers weather I can understand you being frustrated by it

1:09.5

doesn't show any information anymore I said update and try some stuff and I think eventually

1:15.0

rebooted and updated and it did eventually start working again. So that was at least one

1:19.1

thing resolved but yeah clearly there's some people out there who have an incorrect impression of the

1:23.2

Watchers Weather Act because of a system bug. You know that thing that was going

1:27.0

around for a while where the complication would just shuppers blank? That's

1:31.6

happening to me again.
