chapter on Rousseau. It is subtitled The Heart Knows Best.

And this book is by Thomas P. Neal, PhD.

I learned a little bit about him.

He was a professor.

He liked to write books and other essays and everything kind of as if it was a lecture on paper.

So it was easy to consume.

And that is why I like it.

But it's a pot boiler. That is, it is not like a

primary source material. It's 30 pages on 12 different philosophers that you could probably get a PhD on

individually. So this is just to get his perspective on how our outlook, the modern mind, differs from its predecessor, which I would say the medieval mind, or the, it's really has a Catholic influence.

So the fact that he's Catholic does, kind of sets the peg where he's comparing these two.

So I had an interesting back and forth on Twitter about the Newton chapter. This guy comes with a perspective. He criticizes Newton from his perspective. And I understand that that is a, that is true. But I actually like it because it gives you a kind of, you know, it's not so abstract.

And then you can disagree with the original guys, Thomas Neal's perspective.

But at least you've gotten some sense of, you know, how it was influential in changing from the previous mindset,

which I think Thomas Neal probably maintains,

and I do a little bit too, to the modern mindset. And then there's the postmodern mindset,

which this book does not cover. So anyway, Rousseau is very critical in, I guess they're all
