Evening everybody. Welcome to another episode of Why Are You Laughing, a history of comedy podcast.

And today, I am pleased to introduce you to Martin Lawrence, another guy, kind of similar

to Robin Williams, although I was more aware of the impact

that Robin Williams had, even when I was kind of young as a fan in stand-up.

But Martin Lawrence is a guy that, like, I knew him from, I knew him from bad boys and

Big Mama's House and all that type of stuff.

I wasn't until, you know, the last few years when I would hear guys like Rogan and Chris Rock and stuff that we'll play later,

where you hear a lot of comedians talk about the influence that Martin Lawrence had.

And it's very interesting because just his show, Martin, very influential.

I grew up in the 90s completely unaware of it.

I didn't know it existed.

It just didn't hit my radar.

And yet it influenced a lot of TV.
