0:08.1	Listen, what we live for at Living Proof is to serve people, the Word of God.
0:13.1	We base our ministry on Hebrews 412 that tells us that the Word is alive and active.
0:18.3	We pray this message is going to serve you in some way today and that God is going
0:22.7	to speak through it. Thank you so much for giving us this privilege. Number two is this. I want you to
0:28.1	notice something else about Martha. Number one, Martha opened her home to Jesus. You and I are going to
0:32.1	open our homes to Jesus. Number two, notice with me in verse 40. I want you to see this carefully, but Martha was distracted by all the preparations that had to be made. Number two is this, the preparations had to be made. That's an extremely important part of the text because it tells us that Martha's shortcoming in this picture before we give her a bad rap was not that she made the preparations.
1:01.0	They had to be made.
1:02.0	I'm going to tell you something, if I'm going over to eat with somebody, I'm going to hope she's a Martha.
1:07.0	You know what I'm saying?
1:09.0	I might want to go on a walk with Mary, but if I'm going to eat with somebody, let it be a
1:13.8	Martha.
1:14.8	If I'm going to stay in her home, I want to stay with Martha.
1:18.2	If I'm going to stay in somebody's home, I want to ask them, are you a Martha or are you a
1:21.5	Mary?
1:23.1	Amen.
1:26.7	There are preparations that have to be made.
1:29.7	Her problem was that she forgot the pre in the preparation.
1:35.7	She was still about doing it when God walked through the door and began to open his mouth and teach.
1:44.8	Now look carefully at what it says.
1:46.7	The mistake was not in the preparation.
1:48.6	The mistake was in her allowing it to distract her.
