Yes, and a word of caution about today's episode, we are dealing with infant death

and if that is something that is particularly triggering to you I would suggest that you

skip this case in its entirety. All right I'm gonna go. Yeah, I know. Honestly, I didn't realize what I had gotten into until I was too deep. So here we are.

But if here here, I think you probably at some point heard about Gypsy Rose

Blanchard, whose mother, D.D. claimed that Gypsy was suffering from a myriad of symptoms which led to her

being diagnosed with all these illnesses and

Muscular dystrophy and unfortunately for Gypsy her mother had been lying about those

symptoms so that she could be seen as ultimate caretaker and just like a loving

supportive mother which she was not. It's stemmed from a mental disorder called Munchausen Syndrome by proxy.

And the by proxy is added when it's like a caretaker putting symptoms on a kid. And it's Munchausen Syndrome when they are pretending to be ill themselves or making

of symptoms of themselves.

And while Gypsy Rose is a very famous example, I want to talk about Mary Beth Tending, who is regarded as

another example of this. Are you ready? No. Your face does not look ready.
