We start with a hearing in Maryland about the fate of a man mistakenly deported to El Salvador's notorious megaprisen last month. Lawyers for Kilmar Armando Abrago Garcia told the judge that the Trump administration is misreading a Supreme Court decision that endorsed her order that U.S. officials must, quote,

facilitate his return to the U.S. And the judge agreed, rejecting the Justice Department's argument

that they understood facilitate to mean working to, quote, remove any domestic obstacles that may

stand in the way of his return, not a requirement that they request Salvador and officials

to release him. The judge said she would issue a written order that, quote, expands on my definition

of the word facilitate. Abrago Garcia entered the country illegally around 2011, but an immigration

judge in 2019 granted him protected status prohibiting the government from deporting him to El Salvador.
