This week's guest is Matt Rogers, co-host of the Lost Cultures podcast with Cohen Yang, co-star of I Love That for You on Showtime,

and one of my absolute favorite people on this earth.

I've known Matt for a little over five years now, but some remember so clearly that first time we saw him perform with Bowen.

It was not an idle thing so honey, live.

And I was just like, these guys are it.

Whatever it is, it is them.

Whatever it will be, it will be these two people.

And it's been one of the great joys of covering comedy to see what they've done.

Pretty quickly after I saw them, I tried to find ways to get them involved in culture and I think we did some fun stuff.

But it was also a hard time for them both individually and together as they talked about before, as they're both in the running to get SNL.

Eventually, obviously Bowen got hired and Matt was crushed.

But also with that time, he was able to put his full strength and focus and creative energy into a new one person show.

He had been working on with Henry Kepersky, the piano keptness and musical director for a who's who of New York alternative comedians.

As a sign out, also around this time, Henry and Matt were going through a breakup.
