John the Baptist has some questions about, hey, is Jesus the guy?

And Jesus goes on to extol John, say a bunch of good things about John, but I think in the context of where we're heading right now, the big thing that he does is he says, listen, whether a prophet or the son of God comes preaching the law in its full severity or preaching the gospel in its full sweetness, you guys don't like

either of those things. You reject both of those things. In other words, when you hear the pure

word of God, either one, you have rejected it, and this leads us up to verse 20, where he's going to sort of come to a

conclusion here. So he just got done saying, hey, John came. He was out there in the wilderness,

doing no drinking or anything. And you said, no, that guy's terrible, and then he has a demon or something,

and then I came, the son of man came, and I've been hanging out with sinners, and I drink a little

wine from time to time, and you say I'm a drunkard, and I'm sure an Antinomian is what he is.

And so Jesus then has this conclusion, Eric, that's what we get in verse 20. Indeed. He says
