Summary

In 1991, actor/martial artist/philosopher/current Russian special envoy to the U.S. Steven Seagal hosted Saturday Night Live for the first and only time. The result has gone down in history as one of the worst episodes of all time. We look back on this infamous show and find a nearly indecipherable time-capsule of the comedy and culture of the early 1990s. PLUS: Luke explores the relationship between celebrities and the NFT industry.

Michael and Us is a podcast about political cinema and our crumbling world hosted by Will Sloan and Luke Savage.

And yeah, just kind of taken it easy, you know, I still still have to work, which I confess.

0:59.0

I'm finding it a little more difficult to do than I was hoping, you know, sometimes being in a new space can be very conducive to creativity and inspiration.

1:09.0

This apparently is not one of those times. I don't know how writing is for you, but for me, I'm very routine based.

1:15.0

I'm very habit based. I have a workspace at home that I've cultivated pretty meticulously. I have my habits.

1:22.0

I don't know, I find being away from those things, it's harder to make inspiration strike.

1:28.0

It may also have something to do with it being, you know, a ways into December now.

1:33.0

And just my body and mind have never accommodated themselves to the fact that like, when you're an adult, you don't just get like a whole month or six weeks off around this time of year.

1:43.0

You kind of just have to keep going.

1:45.0

I am planning to take some time off soon, but I don't know, it's been a busy year.

1:50.0

And I'm finding, you know, the amount of inspiration, the amount of creativity I have is sometimes finite.

1:56.0

And I was certainly feeling that today, but it's very beautiful in Nova Scotia.

1:59.0

I mean, I've been to Halifax before, but never really properly to the province as a whole.

2:04.0

And I mean, it just fits every stereotype, very nice people.
