co-host Joe Hagen. Hello Joe. Hello Emily Jane Fox. We have a very exciting interview today. Tell me about it. So I feel like this is a really long time coming. We have Michael Cohen on the podcast. Have you ever heard of him before?

Whoa, yes I have.

That name probably sounds familiar because he has dominated news coverage

for years and years and years through many iterations of his relationship with Donald

Trump, the businessman, President Donald Trump, and I have spent much of my last four years writing about him, reporting about him, talking to him.

He's been just a real central figure in my professional life and as you know from being a reporter

when you cover someone so closely you know they become a figure in your your personal life too

you spend a lot of time with the people who you cover.

So it feels really nice to bring some of the conversations that we have in private to you guys here

because you guys are inside the Hive family.

One of the things I think is so great about this interview and about having

reported on Michael for so long is he has really been a touchstone for me in my

reporting on the Trump era because he knows the president and he knows his

family so well.

He basically, you know, has lived inside Donald Trump's head

and professionally studied his behavior,

his psyche, his reactions to things

because he had to be on top of all those things

in order to be successful at the Trump organization.

So anytime I really had a question about,

well, why would he ever do this?
