Summary

If you have felt the pull to switch planners 3 or 4 months into 2021 -- well, just know that you are not alone! Due to a few factors, Sarah jumped out of the (lovely!) Wonderland 222 and into a larger more colorful Erin Condren softbound weekly, with the hourly layout. She give all listeners official permission to switch if needed and explains what she enjoys about her new system (hint: the paper. EC has really amazing paper). Learn more about your ad choices. Hello and welcome to best laid plans, the podcast about planners, planning, planning techniques, and anything planning adjacent.

0:18.0

This is your host, Sarah Hart Unger, and this is episode number 39. I know I had

0:23.6

promised last week that today was going to be a guest episode, but my guest was not feeling well.

0:28.6

So we are going to do a pivot, and I'm going to switch this week's with next week, and hopefully we can get our

0:33.5

guest back. And today I'm going to talk about the planner system that I'm using currently

0:39.7

that I kind of pivoted to a little bit suddenly, which is the Aaron Condren weekly. First, I'm

0:46.4

going to mention that I've gotten a couple questions on my blog, and I think I addressed it a little bit

0:50.7

last week, but I'm going to dive in a little bit more, that it is okay to switch up your system. I actually had one of my best friends text me a few days ago

0:59.9

randomly at like 9 in the morning and said, last night I ordered a hobonushi weeks because I was

1:05.3

having a horrible week and I know that this will not really fix everything, but I'm sure it will

1:09.5

have a good placebo effect.

1:11.3

And of course, I responded, it might have even more than a placebo effect because planners

1:15.9

sometimes have a little bit of magic where you start to be able to see your life a little bit

1:20.4

differently due to the magic of maybe a new layout or the inspiration to put something together

1:26.0

in a way that you hadn't thought of before.

1:28.2

So I'm hoping that her Hobonichi Weeks has more than a placebo effect for her,

1:33.4

and she'll have to let me know.

1:35.4

And I have to say that my planner switch seems to have had more than a placebo effect

1:41.4

for me as we entered this spring quarter.

1:46.9

Now, first of all, I do not want to imply anything negative about the system I was using before. It was beautiful. It had so many

1:53.6

amazing features, and in fact, it still does. So I should not use past tense when I am talking about

1:58.3

the Wonderland 222 system. I had the A5 planner and notebook, and I had
