greatest English filmmakers of all time, a man who has written in his own way, and directed,

films for screens both big and small, which have been massively acclaimed and influential for

more than a half century. Among them, 1976's nuts in May,

1977's Abigail's party, 1980s grown-ups, 1983's meantime, 1993's naked,

1996's secrets and lies, 2004's Vera Drake, 2008's Happy Go Lucky, and Most Recently,

2024's Hard Truths, Mike Lee.

Lee's films have won the top prizes of both the Cannes and Venice Film Festivals,

something no other Brit has ever been able to claim.
