Hello, friends, and welcome to this, my second Extra Spooky Minisode.

Extra spooky, because we are officially in the Halloween season.

This week, I spent many dark hours picking through the already bizarre and traumatizing pages of the Illustrated Police News Law Courts and Record for the most spooky Halloween bits and pieces.

If you're unfamiliar, this publication is everyone's favorite blood-soaked tabloid from the 1800s.

I've got a few spine-tingly articles today from an 1878 volume.

I've got coffin-shaped boxes in mysterious huts,

a case of suspended animation,

a struggle in an elevator with a lunatic with an unbearable cliffhanger and some other little, quote,

items of interest, as they're called in the paper, which are indeed very interesting items.

We'll also enjoy a pumpkin smash.

How are you enjoying the banter? I've been including more personal anecdotes up front in the episodes because I like talking to you. It's nice, but I want to know if you like to skip straight to the
